We are seeking an accomplished Finance Manager to take ownership of the organisation's finance function and work closely with the CEO and broader leadership team.
n
This is a broad, influential position for someone who can move comfortably between financial strategy and the day-to-day mechanics of finance. You'll provide leadership with clear financial visibility while ensuring reporting, cash flow, compliance, payroll and financial controls are managed accurately and effectively.
n
Rather than sitting above the numbers, you'll remain close to them. Identifying issues early, strengthening processes and giving leaders the financial information they need to make informed decisions.
n
What you'll be responsible for:
n You will have end-to-end oversight of the finance function, with responsibilities including:
n
n
Delivering timely and accurate management and financial reporting
n
Maintaining strong visibility over cash flow and the organisation's financial position
n
Leading annual budgets, forecasting and ongoing financial planning
n
Reviewing performance against budget and investigating key variances
n
Providing meaningful financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team
n
Overseeing payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant Award requirements
n
Managing PAYG, FBT, WorkCover and other statutory obligations
n
Ensuring financial practices comply with Australian Accounting Standards and applicable regulatory requirements
n
Coordinating external audits and ensuring findings and recommendations are appropriately addressed
n
Maintaining effective financial controls, policies, systems and procedures
n
Partnering with operational leaders across different service areas to improve financial understanding and accountability
n
Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and overall efficiency
n

What we're looking for:
n You will be an experienced finance skilled who enjoys taking ownership and being actively involved in the function you lead.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification
n
Approximately 10+ years' relevant finance experience, including significant responsibility for a finance function
n
Strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, accounting standards, taxation and statutory compliance
n
Demonstrated budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management capability
n
Experience overseeing payroll and Award-related compliance
n
Strong accounting systems capability, with Xero experience highly regarded
n
The ability to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance stakeholders
n
Confidence working directly with senior executives and operational leaders
n
Strong attention to detail, accountability and the ability to manage competing priorities
n
n
Experience within community services, health, NFP or another purpose-led environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors with the right breadth of finance experience are encouraged to apply.
