Position Summary
The Accounts Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the finance team with day-to-day accounting functions. This role is responsible for assisting in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, focusing on customer invoicing, supplier invoice reviews and purchase order processing. Working closely with Senior Accounts, this position provides an opportunity to develop strong financial skills while contributing to the efficiency of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Assure timely and accurate invoicing within deadlines
Ensure attention to detail in reviewing inputs to minimize errors in billing
Performing daily cash application functions
Assure timely collection of monies due for assigned portfolio
Manage setup of new customers and changes to existing customer database
Ensure software system is consistently updated with correct chargeable rates
Assure timely and accurate input of Purchase Orders
Manage and review Recipient Created Tax Invoices process
Review supplier invoices to ensure alignment with agreed terms.
Perform financial analysis of business as assigned by Financial Accountant
Work with and assist in the yearly audit function and assist with audit requests as assigned
Work closely with and receive mentorship from the senior accounts and finance managers to develop accounting knowledge and skills.
Assist with ad hoc data entry and financial reporting tasks.
Coordinating and/or working on special projects as assigned by the Financial Accountant and Finance Manager
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
Experience in an account assistant, bookkeeping, or similar finance role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., basic formulas, data entry, and organisation).
Exposure to Microsoft Business Central and Power BI is an advantage but not required.
Personal Attributes
Eager to learn and develop accounting skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
