Key responsibilities
n
Complete detailed vehicle inspections and build a considered repair plan capturing accident-related damage, repair operations, parts, paint/materials, sublet requirements and relevant manufacturer information.
n
Take ownership of estimating-related communication so customers, assessors and internal teams receive explicit and timely information throughout assessment, approval and repair.
n
Prepare and manage supplements / variations when strip-down reveals additional damage, supported by photographs, repair methodology and clear justification.
n
Challenge or clarify assessment outcomes where the authorised scope or value does not adequately reflect the work required to complete a safe and appropriate repair.
n
Work closely with production and parts personnel before and during repairs to confirm methodology, parts requirements, labour operations, repair sequence and any emerging issues.
n
Keep estimates and repair files current as approvals change, ensuring authorised operations, documentation and supporting evidence are captured before file closure.
n
Review completed jobs from a commercial perspective, including labour, parts, paint/materials and sublet, and identify discrepancies before final invoicing.
n
Contribute to a smooth handover between estimating, parts,



production and administration so vehicles are not delayed by incomplete information or unresolved approvals.
n
About you
n
High school or college automotive body repair diploma.
n
At least 3 years of collision repair experience in estimating.
n
Solid collision-repair estimating experience with a practical understanding of panel, structural, mechanical, parts and refinishing operations.
n
Strong computer confidence. Experience with
iBodyshop/Audanet/Audatex/PartsCheck
is essential.
n
Confidence interpreting vehicle damage and translating it into a complete repair plan rather than simply producing a quote.
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot omissions, inconsistencies and cost or approval issues before they affect production.
n
Professional communication and negotiation skills when dealing with customers, assessors, insurers, suppliers and the workshop team.
n
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how estimate quality, approvals, supplements and file completeness affect cycle time and job profitability.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy collision-repair environment while remaining accountable for your own files.
