We're open to either an experienced Team Lead or a strong Senior Application Specialist. The Senior position will have a greater hands‐on technical focus, while the Team Lead will combine technical ownership with team leadership, mentoring and workload management.

As the Senior / Team Lead - Mining Applications, you'll provide senior technical support and ownership across applications, operational systems and associated data platforms used throughout mining operations.
n
You'll act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, work directly with operational stakeholders and vendors, and help drive improvements across application performance, reliability and supportability.
n
For a Team Lead, you'll also provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to Application Specialists. For a Senior candidate, the position will remain more hands‐on, with a stronger focus on troubleshooting, systems analysis and technical improvement.

Key Responsibilities
n

Provide senior-level technical support across mining and operational applications.
n
Act as the technical escalation point for complex incidents and application issues.
n
Troubleshoot issues across applications, databases, integrations and operational systems.
n
Use SQL to investigate data, troubleshoot issues and support application performance.
n
Use Python and scripting to support automation, data processing and application improvements.
n
Support reporting and visualisation platforms including Power BI, Tableau and Grafana.
n




Investigate application and data flows from operational source systems through to end‐user reporting.
n
Support interfaces between operational technology systems and enterprise applications.
n
Monitor application performance, availability and underlying data processes.
n
Work with vendors to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
n
Support application upgrades, changes, integrations and improvement initiatives.
n
Work closely with operational stakeholders to understand issues and translate requirements into technical solutions.
n
Identify recurring technical problems and implement longer-term fixes.
n
Maintain technical documentation and improve knowledge across the support team.
n
Ensure application changes follow appropriate change, security and governance processes.
n
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other Application Specialists.
n
For Team Lead candidates, coordinate team priorities, workload and technical capability development.

Profile
n
We're looking for a technically strong Senior Application Specialist, Application Support Engineer or Applications Team Lead with experience supporting complex operational environments.
n
Key Experience:
n
n




5+ years' experience in application or systems support.
n
Solid troubleshooting experience across business-critical applications.
n
Hands‐on SQL skills for querying and investigating application/data issues.
n
Python or similar scripting experience for automation and data processing.
n
Experience with Power BI, Tableau or Grafana.
n
Understanding of application integrations, data flows and underlying systems.
n
Experience supporting incidents, upgrades, changes and problem resolution.
n
Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
n
n
Highly Regarded:
n
n
Mining, resources or heavy industry experience.
n
Experience with MineMarket, AVEVA Production Management (Ampla), CCLAS, GE Proficy Historian or Kepware.
n
Exposure to SCADA, historians and OPC-DA / OPC-UA
n
Exposure to AWS IoT Core, Greengrass or IoT SiteWise.
