About the Role:
n
We are looking for enthusiastic Advanced Trainees in General and Acute Care Medicine or Senior General Medicine Registrar to join our General Medicine team at Echuca Regional Health (ERH) from February **** for 12 months.
n
Echuca Regional Health is provisionally accredited for Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and will included 6 months General Medicine and 6 months High Acuity General Medicine (HDU/ Admission)
n
This position is suitable for an Advanced Trainee or Senior Medical Registrar looking to gain valuable hands on experience in a growing sub-regional health service. This position will have opportunities to work closely with General Medicine Physicians, Rural Generalists and other rotational junior doctors while treating a wide range of patients. There will be a range of other skill development aspects including clinical leadership and support of the medical team.

The Medical Ward incorporates 24 general and 6 high dependency (HDU) beds. The ward is supported by General Physicians, Rural Generalists, 2 Advanced Trainees, 3 BPT Registrars, 3 Unaccredited Registrar, 9 HMOs and 3 interns, working with a team of nursing and allied health care staff. There are three medical units, with one led by Rural Generalists and the other two by staff Physicians.

ERH provides a comprehensive range of health services, including: emergency; medical/HDU; surgical; rehabilitation; maternity; paediatrics; urology; orthopaedics; ophthalmology; dental; chemotherapy; and haemodialysis. Qualifications/experience
required:
n
n
MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
n
Enrolled in Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine
n
Experience in the provision of general medicine services, ideally including High Dependency Unit (HDU) and/or Acute Medical Unit (AMU) services
n
Interpersonal skills that promote effective teamwork and patient safety
n
