Skewer'd Port Melbourne are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook (At Least 1 year experience in Greek Restaurant or Souvlaki) to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis in Port Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Preparing and cooking a variety of meals in accordance with recipes and menu requirements.
n
Greek /mediterranean food service
n
Meat prep, marination and daily spit preparation.
n
Knife skills to prepare in-store salads and meats
n
Portion Control and consistency.
n
Ensuring consistency, quality and presentation of all food.
n
Preparing ingredients, including cutting, portioning and marinating.
n
Monitoring food quality and freshness.
n
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
n
Complying with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Assisting with stock management, including checking deliveries and minimising food wastage.
n
Working efficiently as part of a team during busy service periods.
n




Assisting with menu preparation and maintaining appropriate portion control.
n
Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.

About you
n
n
Minimum 1-year previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
n
Must have passed Skill Assessment Test.
n
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
n
Strong Grill and hot-line operation.
n
Strong meat slicing skills from the gyros vertical spit.
n
Solid knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
n
Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
n
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
n
Good communication and teamwork skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
n
Adaptable to changing service and menu requirement.
n
Availability to work full-time, including weekends and public holidays where required.
