Cattle Farm Manager - Fixed Term (12-months) n
Mackays Group is seeking an experienced and hands-on
Cattle Manager
to join our team on a fixed-term basis, (maternity leave cover).
n
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Cattle Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of cattle and farm operations, including livestock, pasture, farm assets, safety and the farm team.
About the role n
This is a hands-on management position suited to an experienced beef cattle professional who enjoys leading a team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day farm operations.
Key responsibilities n
n
Managing day-to-day cattle operations, including animal health, breeding, nutrition, mustering and livestock movements.
n
Monitoring cattle performance, pasture, feed and water to optimise production.
n
Managing farm assets, infrastructure, equipment and maintenance.
n
Leading, developing and motivating the farm team.
n
Managing farm budgets and operational expenditure.
n
Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, WHS, compliance and quality.
n
Supporting strategic and operational planning to deliver safe, effective and sustainable outcomes.

About you n

Demonstrated experience in beef cattle and farm management.
n
Strong practical livestock and pasture management skills.
n
Proven leadership and people management experience.
n
A strong understanding of animal welfare, WHS and farm compliance.
n
Sound financial and operational management skills.
n
A hands-on, practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.
n
The ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
