Retail Salesperson / Small Engine Mechanic - Outdoor Power Equipment
Prompt Mower Service is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Retail Salesperson with Small Engine Mechanic experience to join our team at our Hornsby store.
This is primarily a customer-facing retail sales position, however, we are looking for someone who can bring together excellent customer service skills with hands-on mechanical and technical experience.
The successful applicant will spend the majority of their time assisting customers, providing product advice and handling sales.
However, during busy periods or when required, you will also assist our workshop team with servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
Key responsibilities
Providing friendly and qualified customer service
Assisting customers with the purchase of outdoor power equipment, parts and accessories
Using your mechanical knowledge to provide accurate product and technical advice
Discussing servicing, repairs and maintenance requirements with customers




Processing sales and payments
Answering phone and in-store enquiries
Receiving and organising stock
Maintaining showroom displays and presentation
Assisting with the general day-to-day operation of the store
Assisting our workshop team during busy periods or when additional support is required
About you
Previous customer service and/or retail sales experience
Previous experience working as a Small Engine Mechanic
Knowledge of small engines and outdoor power equipment
The ability and willingness to carry out mechanical repairs and assist in the workshop when required
Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers
A friendly, professional and approachable manner
The ability to move comfortably between retail sales and workshop duties
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
