We are currently looking for experienced Librarians to join the City of Sydney Library network on a casual basis, with opportunities to work across 9 library branches throughout the City of Sydney.

About the role

As a Casual Librarian, you will provide skilled library and information services while delivering a high level of service to the community.
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n

Providing professional reference, research and information services
n
Assisting customers to access library collections, online resources and digital services
n
Responding to more complex customer and information enquiries
n
Supporting customers with technology, digital literacy and library systems
n
Assisting with collection services and maintaining accessible, well-organised resources
n
Supporting library programs, activities and community initiatives
n
Providing high-quality customer service to a diverse community
n
Working across City of Sydney library branches depending on operational requirements
n

About you
n
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
n
n
A recognised qualification in Library and Information Science or a related discipline
n
Previous experience working as a Librarian, ideally within a public library environment
n
Strong research, reference and information service skills
n
Excellent customer service and communication skills
n
Confidence working with library systems, databases and digital resources
n
The ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
n
Flexibility to work across the City of Sydney's 9 library branches
n
Availability for casual shifts, which may include evenings and weekends
n
