Housed in the former Ballina Council Chambers, dating back to the ****s, the cafe shares its unique location with the Northern Rivers Community Gallery, creating a welcoming space where food, history and art come together. The café focuses on fresh, seasonal produce and locally sourced ingredients, offering a menu that celebrates quality flavours and creative dishes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
n
The Gallery Cafe is looking for an experienced Chef / Cook to join our dynamic team in a full-time position.
n
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
n
n
Designing menus, calculating food, and procuring food supplies
n




Supervising dish quality throughout preparation and presentation
n
Consulting with kitchen staff and servers about food preparation matters
n
Demonstrating methods and providing guidance on cooking techniques
n
Preparing and cooking meals
n
Educating on and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards
n
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
n
n
WHAT YOU NEED:
n
n
Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery (preferably Certificate IV in Kitchen Management) is mandatory and a Diploma in Hospitality Management is highly desirable.
n
A minimum of 2-3 years managerial experience working in a fast pace, high-volume restaurant
n
Good communication skills
n
Outstanding customer relations
n
n
Full time and permanent position Salary Expectation: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum
