Castlegate James is looking for a reliable and motivated Factory Hand to join our production team at Swanbank. This is a great opportunity to be part of Australasia's largest co-product stockfeed business and contribute to the production of high-quality stockfeed products.

In this hands-on role, you will assist with day-to-day manufacturing activities, operate production equipment, and support safe, efficient site operations. Previous plant operation experience is not essential, as full training will be provided across the role.

This is a full-time role, working Tuesday to Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Please note that roster hours may change in line with operational requirements.

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, safety-focused, and willing to learn. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting, managing multiple tasks, working as part of a team, and taking ownership of your work and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Complete and accurately record pre-operational start-up checks and standard operating procedures
n
Prepare and produce orders efficiently, cost-effectively, and within required timeframes
n
Operate production equipment used in the manufacture of stockfeed products
n
Maintain accurate daily production records, including equipment settings, output, downtime,



waste, rework, and maintenance or operational issues
n
Provide clear and effective shift handovers
n
Work cooperatively with team members to meet production requirements
n
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
n
Follow all Workplace Health and Safety and environmental requirements
n
Take responsibility for equipment care, safe operation, and timely reporting of any issues
n
Meet production targets and complete assigned tasks as directed
n
Ensure QA/QC, FeedSafe, and HACCP documentation is completed accurately throughout the production process
n

About You

Strong awareness of, and commitment to, workplace safety
n
Current forklift licence required
n
Telehandler Gold Card licence is essential
n
Mechanical aptitude and a practical approach to problem solving
n
Willingness to perform manual labour as required
n
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
n
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
