Job Description
The Tempe Hotel, Tempe — part of the Universal Hotels group, a family of iconic venues known for great food, cold beer and genuine hospitality. We're looking for an experienced and driven Venue Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the pub and lead a passionate front-of-house team. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the floor as much as the back office — someone who takes pride in running a tight, well-loved venue and delivering a great guest experience day in, day out.

Key responsibilities

Own all aspects of daily operations, including rostering, stock management and compliance
n
Lead, motivate and develop the FOH team to deliver exceptional service standards
n
Open and close the venue, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
n
Manage staff training, onboarding and performance
n
Ensure RSA/RCG and liquor licensing obligations are met at all times
n
Handle guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism
n
Manage budgets, labour and food/beverage costs to meet targets
n
Work closely with the broader Universal Hotels team to drive the venue's performance and reputation

About you
n
n




Minimum 2 years' experience in a Venue Manager or senior Duty Manager role within hospitality
n
Current RSA & RCG certificate (NSW)
n
Strong knowledge of bar and gaming operations
n
Confident leader with excellent communication and people skills
n
Availability to work across a rotating roster including weekends and evenings
n
Experience with POS systems and financial/cost reporting
n
Solid understanding of TAB & gaming machine operation
n
