We are seeking a Graduate Sales Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join a leading manufacturer specialising in steel laser cutting and fabrication.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of post-graduate experience who is looking to build their career in technical sales, customer service and manufacturing.
n
You will play a key role in managing customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations from engineering drawings, following up opportunities and ensuring confirmed jobs are efficiently progressed into production.

The Role
n
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Responding to customer enquiries with fast turnaround times
n
Reviewing workshop and engineering drawings to understand job requirements
n
Preparing and issuing accurate quotations based on drawings and specifications provided
n
Following up quotations with customers via phone and email
n
Building strong relationships with customers and providing excellent service
n
Following up approved quotes and obtaining Purchase Order (PO) numbers
n
Entering confirmed jobs into the production queue
n
Communicating with customers and internal production teams to ensure jobs move through the process efficiently
n
Managing multiple enquiries and quotations while meeting customer deadlines
n
Understanding the importance of speed and accuracy when quoting, ensuring work is returned to the customer promptly for approval
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is technically minded, commercially focused and customer-oriented.
n
n
A Mechanical Engineering degree
n
1-2 years post-graduate experience in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment
n
Strong ability to read and interpret
workshop/engineering
drawings
n
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
n
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
n
A self-driven and proactive approach
n
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
n
A friendly, confident and professional manner
n
A strong customer focus and desire to deliver great service
n
The ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
n
An understanding of the importance of quick quotation turnaround times
n
The confidence to pick up the phone, follow up customers and convert quotes into orders
n
n
Experience within steel fabrication, laser cutting, manufacturing or technical sales would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
