Join icon fashion house Aje as Senior Garment Technician at our Aje Head Office in Sydney.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
Design Stage
n
n
Create detailed specs, make notes & sample requests for offshore sampling.
n
Follow direction from Creative Director & Senior Designers to ensure accurate translation of design concepts into production ready garments.
n
Work along Product Development to ensure all BOM's, design details, make notes & specs are correct for each individual style & all comments are clearly communicated for factory understanding.
n
Analysing Bali toiles with a "production fitting eye" this ensures the appropriate fit alterations are actioned for a well-balanced garment which is in-line with our Aje standards.
n

Technical & Fitting Stage
n
n
Responsible for preparing all samples prior to fitting (press, measure & review to ensure all previous comments have been followed by the factory).
n
Flag any variance in size before fitting & ensure the factory is informed where appropriate.
n
Attend fittings to provide technical expertise, (pattern alterations & fit analysis).
n
Possessing the confidence to verbalise your ideas across to the team in a concise and qualified manner.
n
Update specs correctly & provide clear detailed technical instructions for the factory to follow.
n




Awareness of any measurements that are not specific to Aje Standards Measurements to prevent any fit issues.
n
Ensure measurements are consistent across styles, categories & our supplier base as it expands.
n
Maintain consistency in sewing & make standards across all our supplier base.
n
Always strive for excellence & innovative ways to improve pattern shape & make with the goal to create a "high end garment".
n

Production Stage
n
n
Collaborate with Design, Production, and the Atelier Technical Manager to promptly address technical and quality concerns in sampling, bulk production, and faulty returned garments, minimizing delays.
n
Support the factories to solve specific construction, pattern, measurements queries in-line with the Aje Standards.
n
Provide accurate grading information for each garment.
n
Report on quality, faults and production each season detailing each factory performance against target.
n
Inspect & assess PPS, TOP OF BULK, SHIPPER SAMPLES, flag any issues that could impact delivery with Atelier Technical Manager & Production Manager.
n
Track correspondence between "T.O.P" and "SHIPPER" samples until the samples are approved.
n
Request QIMA reports where appropriate & review/approve alongside Production Manger.
n
Collaborate with the Atelier Technical Manager and Production Manager to assess customer and wholesale returns,



and address any recurring issues.
n

You will bring:
n
n
Strong interest in colour, design detail, fabrics and print development, with a passion for activewear and lifestyle apparel
n
Highly organised and detail oriented
n
Experience working in a rapid-paced design environment, managing multiple seasons simultaneously
n
Understanding of garment construction, fit and fabrications, ideally within performance or activewear categories
n
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with strong CAD skills
n
Ability to think critically, take initiative and solve problems
n
Strong communication skills when working with cross-functional teams and suppliers
n
Efficient and energetic in the undertaking of tasks
n
