We are looking for a Cook to be part of our team at Kayal Cafe, located in Cranbourne North, Victoria. We offer authentic Indian cuisine in a fun & stylish atmosphere. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and passion for food in a growing hospitality business.

Key responsibilities
n
Understanding kitchen equipment, checking temperatures of heating equipment such as ovens and grills
n
Preparation and Presentation of food
n
Assessing food quality and consistency on a daily basis
n
Monitoring food temperatures and storage of food appropriately
n
Receiving Delivery of Raw and Uncooked materials
n
Deal with special dietary requirements
n
Cutting and chopping of vegetables
n
Handling different types of kitchen equipment
n
Tasting food while cooking, applying suitable amount of seasoning for a favourable flavor
n




Understanding customers' special dining requirements to meet individual need
n
About you
n
Hold an AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
n
Have at least 2-year work experience in Indian Cuisine
n
Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
n
Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
n
Valuable interpersonal and communication skills
n
Able to work in a fast-paced environment; multitask and handle stress
n
Able to commit beyond normal working hours as when required
