Job Description
You will be responsible for flood and stormwater assessments from initial model build through to a report that supports council approval, across projects ranging from individual dwellings to subdivisions, industrial estates and planning proposals. You will work directly with the director, whose review and signature accompany every assessment issued.

Key responsibilities
n
Project management of multiple projects, including staff
n
Developing and running hydraulic models in TUFLOW and hydrologic models in RORB and/or WBNM in accordance with Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) ****
n
Preparing flood impact and risk assessments, flood emergency response plans and stormwater management plans
n
Applying the relevant LEP, DCP and council flood planning controls, and responding to council requests for information
n
Liaising with clients, councils and other stakeholders, and managing assessments through to determination
n
About you
n
Degree in civil or environmental engineering
n
5–10+ years of relevant experience in flood and stormwater engineering, with the judgement to manage projects independently
n
Demonstrated proficiency in TUFLOW, together with RORB and/or WBNM
n
Sound working knowledge of ARR **** and the NSW and/or Queensland flood planning framework
n
Competence in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo)
n
Strong technical writing, with the ability to communicate modelling results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
n
An interest in, or experience with, AI and agentic tools would be well regarded
n
