TRAINEESHIP: CERTIFICATE III IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE

Elder Street Early Childhood Centre is an established, innovative andleading early childhood setting in Newcastle.
Elder St has been operating since **** and is a 39 place long day care centre that welcomes all families into our community.
We provide a unique learning experience for children aged birth to 5 years that focuses on each child's strengths and ideas.
Our team of experienced educators has workedtogether for many years and from this knowledge base, we encourage and advocate for professional growth within the sector through the provision of our Traineeship program.
This full time traineeship position is available immediately and will offer the candidate the prospect to gain knowledge, skills and qualification whilst working with the children and team every day.
The study component of the role is delivered within your working hours at the centre with occasional local on-campus face to face learning days over 18 months.




Candidates will be working directly with children and families whilst learning about teaching and curriculum from team mentors.
Traineeships at Elder St ECHC area highly rewarding experience that offers only a few people per year a comprehensive quality first teaching experience to launch their life long teaching and learning journey.
Candidates must be 18 years or over and have not obtained a Certificate III qualification in any other industry in the last 7 years.
As part of our commitment to child safety, strict pre-employment screening processes will apply to the successful applicant.
Referees will be contacted to assess suitability to work within our service and a Prohibited Persons Register clearance will be conducted.
Skills and experience
No previous early childhood education and care experience is required.
We will be looking for self motivated, energetic, curious and resilient people for this role.
Any previous team-based work and strong communication skills will be highly desirable.
