Direct Personnel are currently seeking an experienced Forklift Operator/Trade Assistant to join a well-established mining fabrication business based in the Hunter Valley.
This is a great opportunity to secure consistent, ongoing work with a respected company specialising in structural steel fabrication for the mining industry.
With steady workflow, optional overtime, and genuine long-term potential, this role offers excellent stability for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing:
Operating a forklift to move materials, stock, and finished products around the workshop and yard
Assisting with fabrication, welding support, and general workshop activities
Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently
Reading and interpreting drawings
Using hand and power tools
General workshop duties and housekeeping
Working safely as part of a skilled production team




What We Need from You:
Previous experience as a Forklift Operator, Trade Assistant, or in a fabrication/workshop environment
Current Forklift Licence (LF) - essential
Experience using hand and power tools
Ability to read and interpret drawings (advantageous)
Robust work ethic and reliable attendance
Current driver licence and reliable transport
Commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test
