We are an established civil contractor with a strong reputation and long-standing client relationships. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to take a lead role within our construction team.

The primary focus of this position will be pricing and securing local government civil infrastructure projects, along with selected private-sector opportunities.
n

Key Responsibilities
n
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
n
n
Preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions for minor and major civil infrastructure projects
n
Taking ownership of tenders from initial review through to final submissionn
n
Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documentation
n
Completing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates
n
Developing construction methodologies and preliminary construction programmes
n
Ensuring full compliance with tender requirements and submission deadlines
n
Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
n




Sourcing disposal/tip sites and confirming pricing and availability
n
Identifying project risks, opportunities, exclusions and commercial considerations
n
Preparing tender clarifications and qualifications where required
n
Participating in tender reviews with management
n
Assisting with contract negotiations and post-tender clarifications
n
Completing tender handovers to the project delivery team following award
n
Maintaining accurate records of tender documentation, correspondence, pricing and submissions
n
Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
n
n
Significant experience estimating civil construction projects
n
A proven history of successfully tendering and winning local government civil infrastructure work
n
Solid understanding of civil construction methodologies and sequencing
n
Experience pricing road reconstruction, drainage, earthworks, pavements, concrete, asphalt and associated civil works
n
Strong commercial and contractual understanding
n
Excellent attention to detail
n
Solid written and verbal communication skills
n
Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
n
Solid subcontractor and supplier relationships
n
Ability to work independently while contributing as part of the management team
n
A practical understanding of how civil projects are actually delivered on site
n
A genuine drive to win profitable work and contribute to the continued growth of the business
n

The Role
n
This isn't a position where we are simply looking for someone to complete take-offs and submit prices.
n
We are looking for an experienced estimator who can take ownership of our tendering function, understand the market, identify the right opportunities and help Etheredge Mintern secure profitable civil projects.
n
