About the Role:
n
This is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave for up to 11 months. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial and management reporting functions of a national business with 14 depots across Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to process improvements, and supporting operational and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Perform daily accounting tasks, including general ledger entries and record keeping
n
Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial records
n
Maintain and organise financial files and documentation
n
Manage data entry and ensure proper filing of financial information
n
Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of monthly profit and loss reporting
n
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
n
Respond to and resolve accounts payable queries
n




Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
n

Skills & Experience:
n
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
n
n
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
n
CPA qualification (completed or working towards completion)
n
2-4 years' experience in a similar accounting role
n
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
High attention to detail and accuracy
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
n
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (advantageous)
n
Experience working in medium to large organisations, ideally within the transport or logistics industry
n
n
