Hair Wonderland is a Gold Coast based Haircare Brand with a growing footprint online. We're known for our in-salon experience just as much as our ecommerce presence and we're looking for someone who can bring both sides of the business to life on social media.
This is a newly created role for someone who genuinely loves the beauty and hair space, lives on Instagram and TikTok, and wants to build a brand's social presence from the ground up, not just maintain one.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Social Media & Content Lead, you'll own the content and social strategy across both the Hair Wonderland salon and the Hair Wonderland ecommerce brand. One day you might be filming a client transformation in the salon chair; the next, shooting product content or planning a TikTok series from home.
This is a hands-on, full-time role for a natural content creator. Someone who can plan, film, edit and post, and who understands what makes people stop scrolling. You'll have real ownership over the content calendar, creative direction and day-to-day execution across both platforms.
Based on the Gold Coast, with flexible work-from-home arrangements for planning, editing and admin, and in-salon days for filming, shoots and content capture.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own the content strategy and posting calendar for Hair Wonderland and our Gold Coast Salon (The Hair & The Honey) across Instagram and TikTok..
Plan, film and edit engaging short-form video content (Reels and TikToks) including transformations, tutorials, behind-the-scenes and trend-led content.
Capture in-salon content: client transformations, stylist stories, salon culture and behind-the-chair moments.
Create scroll-stopping content for the ecommerce brand: product features, unboxings, styling tutorials and UGC-style content.
Write captions and copy that sound like Hair Wonderland. Warm, current and true to the brand.




Manage the full content pipeline from ideation through to scheduling and publishing.
Build community: respond to comments and DMs, and help grow an engaged, loyal following.
Track what's working across both platforms and use performance data to shape what comes next.
Stay ahead of platform trends, sounds and formats, and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Work closely with the owner and wider team to align content with launches, promotions and salon events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Based on the Gold Coast, and able to be in-salon regularly for filming and content days.
Proven experience creating content for Instagram and TikTok. We'd love to see your work, whether that's a personal account, past brand work or a portfolio.
A genuine love of hair, beauty and content creation. This shouldn't feel like a stretch.
Confidence filming in a fast-paced salon environment, and comfortable being on camera or directing others.
Skilled with editing tools such as CapCut, InShot, Canva or similar.
A sharp instinct for what performs - trends, hooks, pacing and platform-specific best practice.
Strong writing skills and a good ear for brand voice.
Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage a content calendar independently.
Experience with an ecommerce, retail or beauty brand is highly regarded but not essential.
