Tyrepower Muswellbrook is seeking an experienced
Senior Mechanic
to join our team. This is a
full-time position
that offers the opportunity to join our team and mentor junior mechanics whilst delivering high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services. As Senior Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our workshop operates to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position is based on-site in Muswellbrook NSW ****.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on a wide range of vehicles including diesels using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general servicing
Lead and supervise junior mechanics and apprentices, providing technical guidance and training
Inspect vehicles thoroughly and provide detailed reports to management on mechanical condition and required repairs
Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including labour hours and parts used
Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and relevant safety standards
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to workshop efficiency initiatives
Liaise with customers to explain repair requirements and discuss costs and timelines
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification and experience)
Minimum 10 years' experience as a qualified mechanic in a workshop environment
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across various vehicle types




Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems
Strong supervisory and mentoring skills with proven experience leading team members
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
Current driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles safely
Strong attention to detail and commitment to working safely and following procedures
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable: Experience with modern vehicle technologies including hybrid and electric vehicles
