Mechanical Fitter - Approx $2,000 per week!

Workfast is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the workshop team of a leading engineering company in Chipping Norton.
n
Location: Chipping Norton, NSW
n Pay Rate: $***** per hour + Overtime + Super
n Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm
n Start Date: ASAP
n
This is a hands‐on role involving the overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components used in diesel‐electric locomotives. The position offers consistent full‐time hours and the potential to transition into a permanent role.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components used in rail applications
n
Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
n
Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
n
Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
n
Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a secure work area
n
Operate hand and power tools as needed
n

About You
n
n
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
n
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‐on workshop experience
n




Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
n
Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
n
High attention to detail and safety awareness
n
Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
n
Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
n
