A national fit-out, refurbishment and building contractor has an immediate need for a State (QLD) Safety Coordinator to join its team in Brisbane.
With offices and projects throughout Australia, this is senior role across focusing on the management and improvement of the safety systems, processes and culture for QLD operations.
Additionally, you will the 2 x site based safety advisors report into you.
In this position you will be the go-to safety advisor in QLD.
Reporting to the National Safety Manager and QLD General Manager you will work between the office and sites in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The company:
Our client is an established, national mid-tier building contractor with a specialism in delivering D&C; industrial warehouses, shopping centres and various commercial building & refurb projects typically valued between $5M - $50M.
They currently have 8 live construction projects in QLD and have plenty of work on the horizon.
The position:
Improvement and consistent management of the safety culture across the business.
Management of the QLD safety team including administrators and safety advisors
Conduct site inductions, site audits, task observations
Ensuring each active site has robust safety procedures and practices.
Ensuring company staff and site managers are complying to safety systems,



company WHSE policies and plans.
Build a robust a rapport with the site managers, helping and advising towards best safety practice.
Providing training and coaching around best practice, legislation, procedures and systems compliance.
Review & approve for site works all sub-contractor's safety documentation.
To be suitable or this role, you will possess the following;
Experience driving and improving best practice in HSEQ with a building contractor
Be passionate about safety in construction and possess strong communication skills
Multi-site safety management exp with a building contractor is highly desirable.
Must have held a safety advisor or coordinator position with a building / refurb contractor in the Australian construction market.
Hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
Use of Procore and Hammertech software is highly beneficial
Can demonstrate success in improving safety culture within the built environment
Experience working in safety across building, refurb and fit-out projects is key.

Salary from $170,000-$200,000 p.a .
