The Stag's Head Hotel is a lively pub known for its unique, high-quality fusion menu, and we're looking for a hard-working, passionate Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team. This role starts as casual, with genuine potential to move into permanent part-time or full-time work for the right person.

About the Role

You'll be joining a close-knit kitchen that takes pride in doing things a little differently — our seasonal menu and weekly specials mean no two shifts look quite the same, and we're after someone that enjoys that variety as much as we do. This is a great opportunity for a reliable, skilled cook looking to build something longer-term with a pub that values consistency and quality.

What You'll Do

Food Prep: Complete daily prep lists accurately, keeping portion control consistent and ingredients set up to a high standard.
n
Service: Cook and present menu items to spec through busy evening and weekend rushes.
n
WHS & Food Safety: Maintain strict kitchen hygiene, follow food safety protocols, and stick to workplace health and safety guidelines.

Kitchen Maintenance: Manage stock rotation (FIFO) and complete opening/closing cleaning checklists.
n
Teamwork: Communicate clearly with front-of-house and kitchen staff to keep service running smoothly, especially during peak periods.

What We're Looking For
n
n
Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, with strong knife skills.
n
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent trade experience) and a current Food Safety Supervisor certificate preferred.
n
Fully available for evening and weekend shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays.
n
A hard worker with a strong work ethic, outstanding communication skills, and a genuine passion for food.
n
Someone reliable who's looking to grow with a business — this role has real potential to develop into permanent part-time or full-time hours.
