Development Officer - Community Engagement, Alumni and Fundraising
The Development Officer will work closely with the Head of Community Engagement in a varied role supporting initiatives involving community and family engagement, Chevalier Past Students, events, donor relationships and fundraising campaigns.
Key responsibilities
Engage with the local community to represent the college and/or gain support
Liaise with parents and caregivers to increase engagement in college activities
Implement strategies and success measures to encourage family engagement with the college, including events such as Mother's Day High Tea, Father's Day BBQ, Sportsfest, 'G' Day, and Open Day
Implement family engagement strategies utilising parent volunteers and committees, as appropriate
Work with and support the Chevalier Past Students to achieve agreed objectives
Provide administrative support to the Chevalier Past Students for reunions
Conduct tours of the college for past students, as required
Work with the Digital Media and Marketing Officer to maximise effectiveness of the alumni social media page, LinkedIn and other mediums including magazines and newsletters
Engage with senior students to ensure transition to Chevalier Past Students including mentoring
Work with the Head of Community Engagement to maintain any current gifts and commitments
Support the fundraising strategy as directed by the Head of Community Engagement
Source and assist volunteer fundraising committees as needed
Ensure correct processing and receipt of donations and liaise with the Finance department to ensure accurate reporting
Issue End of Financial Year receipts
Maintain administrative aspects of donor development and care, including communications
Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors and obtain and record feedback of donor experience
About you
Demonstrated networking skills and the ability to grow and foster relationships with the wider community
Experience in event management
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Well-developed organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, deal with multiple and urgent priorities and meet timelines
Well-developed IT skills and experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to achieve shared outcomes and results
The ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships
The ability to develop and sustain strong, appropriate relationships that support and enhance the charism of the College
