Job Description
I'm recruiting a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join a large and well-established Sydney geotechnical group.

For this one, personality and communication skills are going to matter.
n
I'm looking for someone who's technically strong, but importantly is confident talking to clients, proactive and has a bit of a character. Someone who can build relationships, pick up the phone and have a conversation rather than hiding behind emails and reports.

This isn't really a "doer" role - it's a leadership role.
n
You'll be:
n
n
Managing multiple geotechnical projects at once - scope, resources, programme, budget and delivery.
n
Looking after larger tenders and proposals.
n
Acting as a key contact for clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
n
Reviewing technical work and providing direction rather than doing everything yourself.
n
Mentoring and coordinating engineers within the team.
n




Juggling multiple priorities and taking ownership without needing someone constantly telling you what to do.
n
n
Ideally you'll have around 8-12 years' experience across geotechnical investigations, design and/or construction supervision, along with strong project management and commercial skills. Chartered or working towards it would be ideal.
n
The big thing though - you need excellent verbal communication skills. Someone confident, personable and comfortable dealing with clients and leading others.
n
There's a robust pipeline of infrastructure, road and building projects, and it's a good opportunity for someone wanting to move further into project leadership, clients and commercial management rather than being buried in day-to-day site work.
