MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (Junior to Experienced)
This is a great opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer, recent graduate, or experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to develop their career in a practical, hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical design, 3D modelling, CAD drafting, engineering drawings, product development, manufacturing support, and maintenance of production equipment.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, products, systems, and equipment
Create accurate 3D models, CAD designs, and detailed engineering drawings
Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
Assist with design development, engineering calculations, and problem-solving
Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs and adjustments as required
Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment
Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency




Ensure engineering and maintenance work complies with relevant Australian standards and safety requirements
About you
Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Robust interest and ability in 3D modelling, CAD design, and technical drawing
Proficient in, or willing to develop skills in, relevant CAD software
Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Practical and hands-on approach to engineering, maintenance, and problem-solving
Experience or interest in machinery maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
Strong attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
