Accounts Officer

VE Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Ipswich-based team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across accounts payable, reconciliations, project costing and broader finance functions within a fast-paced, project-based environment.

About the Role
Processing and reconciling high volumes of supplier invoices
Managing accounts payable and assisting with debtor follow-up and account enquiries
Completing bank and account reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
Assisting with management reporting and financial information
Supporting job costing, project accounting, purchase orders and cost allocation
Liaising with suppliers, clients, project managers and internal stakeholders
Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
Providing general administrative support when required
About You
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable or a similar finance role




Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, GST and general accounting principles
Experience usingXero
StrongMicrosoft Excelskills
Excellent attention to detail and financial record-keeping skills
Strong organisation and time management skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Confidence communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the business
A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems
A willingness to learn new systems and improve processes
A professional and discreet approach to confidential financial information
Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, transport or another project-based environment would be highly regarded.
Previous experience with payroll, job costing or project accounting will also be advantageous.
