About the role
n
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for managing and continually improving Guardian's HR and workplace health and safety functions.
n




Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing recruitment, employment contracts, onboarding and offboarding
n
Providing practical advice to managers and employees on workplace matters
n
Interpreting Modern Awards, employment contracts and workplace legislation
n
Managing performance, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations
n
Coordinating probation reviews, employee development and recognition programs
n
Reviewing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and employee records
n
Supporting workforce planning, remuneration reviews and employee engagement
n
Managing leave, attendance, return-to-work and injury management processes
n
Maintaining and improving Guardian's WHS management systems
n
Coordinating risk assessments, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations
n
Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring identified safety matters are followed through
n
Supporting employee consultation, toolbox meetings and WHS training
n
Assisting with workers compensation and return-to-work requirements
n
Monitoring compliance with relevant employment and WHS obligations
n
Promoting a workplace culture built around accountability, communication, safety and continuous improvement
n

About you
n
To succeed in this position,



you will ideally have:
n
n
Demonstrated experience in a broad HR generalist, HR Manager or People and Culture role
n
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Up-to-date Awards
n
Experience managing employee relations and performance matters confidently and fairly
n
Practical experience with WHS systems, incident management and risk controls
n
Excellent written communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
n
The confidence to provide clear advice while remaining approachable and supportive
n
The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality
n
A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
n
A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or a willingness to obtain one
n
n
Experience in a trade services, construction, field-service or multi-site environment would be highly regarded.
