About the role
n
Your main responsibility will be to proactively manage and recover outstanding debts. You will work as a Legal Counsel in a casual capacity, approximately 10 hours per week, providing debt recovery services and general legal and commercial advice to the business.

Key responsibilities
n

Reviewing outstanding invoices and debtor accounts
n
Contacting customers regarding overdue invoices and negotiating payment arrangements
n
Managing debt recovery correspondence and follow-up
n
Escalating persistent or disputed debts where appropriate
n
Preparing letters of demand and other legal correspondence
n
Assisting with settlement negotiations and payment arrangements
n
Maintaining accurate records and reporting on debt recovery progress
n
Providing general legal and commercial advice to the business as required
n
Identifying potential legal or contractual issues and recommending practical solutions
n

About you
n
n
An Australian-qualified lawyer,



preferably with a current Australian practising certificate
n
Experienced in commercial law, debt recovery, disputes, credit management or a related area
n
Confident communicating with customers and debtors in a professional but firm manner
n
Litigation experience preferable - with confidence to draft pleadings and other court documents, manage proceedings and conduct NSW local court matters through to hearing
n
Commercially minded and focused on achieving practical outcomes
n
Highly organised and able to work independently
n
Comfortable managing a portfolio of outstanding accounts
n
Robust in written and verbal communication
n
Professional, pragmatic and results-oriented
n
Casual position - approximately 10 hours per week
