Role Description:
n
The Senior Media Advisors will undertake effective media communications, actively liaise with media representatives to enhance the reputation of the department's brand, prepare media collateral including articles, press kits and press releases, and other information.
n
Responsibilities:
n
n
Develop and distribute media materials in consultation with the Media Manager and subject matter experts
n
Monitor and manage emerging media and reputational issues
n
Provide strategic media and communications advice to executives and business areas.
n
Prepare media releases, statements and responses to enquiries
n
Support major initiatives, events and campaigns through proactive media engagement
n
Develop briefing materials, speeches and FAQs as required.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives, Ministerial Offices and senior stakeholders.
n
Support continuous improvement of media processes and systems
n
Ability to navigate in a fast paced, highly confidential environment with tight deadlines and respond quickly to emerging and contentious issues
n
Tertiary qualifications in Media, Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.
n
Demonstrated experience in media relations and issues management
n
Government experience an advantage
n
Strong writing, editing and stakeholder management skills.
n




Experience dealing with complex media issues and a broad range of media organisations
n
Ability to navigate in a fast paced, highly confidential environment with tight deadlines and respond quickly to emerging and contentious issues
n
Experience managing reputational risks and stakeholder expectations
n
