We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Trainer & Assessor – Health & Aged Care to join our education team.
This is a part-time, hands‐on training and assessment role for a Registered Nurse with current industry experience who enjoys teaching, assessment and supporting students across different stages of their studies.
Working Arrangements
Monday to Thursday – fixed working days
9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Optional Friday hours may be available by agreement
$88K–$98K pro-rata + Super
You will work closely with the Head Trainer and wider education team, stepping in where training, assessment and student support are needed most.
About the Role
You will deliver and assess across qualifications including:
Certificate III in Individual Support
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
Certificate IV in Ageing Support
Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
This is a varied role rather than a position focused on one class only.
Depending on operational and student needs, your work may include classroom delivery, relief teaching, assessment marking, student support, practical assessments and work‐placement activities.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, works confidently across different training activities and is comfortable supporting students and the wider training team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging face‐to‐face and online training and assessment
Provide relief teaching and assessment marking as required
Monitor student progress and provide catch‐up or additional support where needed
Conduct and assess student simulation and role‐play activities
Support students preparing for practical assessments and work placement
Conduct work‐placement visits and assess students' practical workplace skills
Complete assessment marking, trainer observations and work‐placement records accurately
Provide clear and constructive feedback to students
Participate in validation, quality checks and continuous improvement activities
Work collaboratively with Trainers, Assessors and administration staff
About You

You will bring:
Strong time‐management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, assessment and student support
A positive attitude and willingness to learn current systems, processes and areas of training
Confidence working across classroom teaching, assessment marking, role plays, student support and workplace assessment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team
A student‐focused approach and commitment to quality outcomes
Essential Requirements
Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
Current and relevant nursing or healthcare industry experience
Relevant vocational qualifications and industry competency to deliver and assess the listed qualifications
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, or currently working towards an accepted TAE qualification
Desirable
Previous experience as a VET Trainer and Assessor
Experience delivering one or more of the following:
Certificate III in Individual Support
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
Certificate IV in Ageing Support
Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
Experience supporting self‐paced students
Experience conducting simulation, role‐play and workplace assessments
Experience using aXcelerate or another student management system
Experience working with domestic and international students
