The Opportunity
n
Due to continued growth, Koppen Construction is seeking a highly organised and motivated Finance & Administration Officer to join our Cairns team on a full‐time permanent basis.
n
This is a diverse role that combines financial administration with broader business support functions.
Working closely with Financial Controller and Project Support teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient financial management and day‐to‐day administration of the business while supporting the delivery of major civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Responsibilities
n
n
End-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
n
Preparing, reviewing and reconciling supplier statements and invoices
n
Processing purchase orders and subcontractor claims
n
Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry
n
Bank reconciliations and general ledger support
n
Assisting with monthly financial reporting and end-of-month processes
n
Monitoring project costs and supporting budget tracking
n
Maintaining financial compliance and internal controls
n
Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and clients regarding account enquiries
n
n
Administration Responsibilities
n
n
Providing administrative support to management and project teams
n
Coordinating correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries
n
Diary, calendar and meeting management
n
Meeting preparation and minute taking
n
Maintaining project and company databases
n
Document control and electronic filing management
n
Assisting with contract administration and project documentation
n
Supporting tender submissions and business development documentation
n
Supporting quality, safety and environmental compliance documentation
n
n
Key Requirements
n
n
2 years' experience in a Finance, Accounts, Bookkeeping or Administration role
n
Experience within the civil construction, construction,
engineering or related industries highly regarded
n
Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general financial processes
n
Experience using accounting software MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
n
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
n
Strong organisational and time management skills
n
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment
n
Professional written and verbal communication skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
n
A proactive attitude with solid problem‐solving capabilities
n
