Job Summary Job Description The Opportunity n
Join a specialist Defence Operations team supporting a large-scale enterprise environment. Using your SQL and database expertise, you will optimise system performance, investigate complex issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to reliable communication services across the Defence landscape.

You can be based
either in Canberra,
Adelaide
, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
n
A minimum Active NV1 clearance is essential to be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities n
n
n
Administer, maintain and optimise SQL Server databases and associated services.
n
n
Develop and execute SQL queries for troubleshooting, reporting, and operational analysis.
n
n
Monitor database and system health, performance, availability, and data integrity.
n
n
Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
n
n
Identify opportunities for automation, scripting, and operational process improvement.
n
n
Support Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business,



and associated Unified Communications platforms.
n
n
Maintain accurate system records, operational procedures, and knowledge of articles.
n
n
Collaborate with engineering, service delivery and customer stakeholders to meet agreed service levels and governance requirements.
n
About You n
You are a technically capable database or infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving service performance within a mission-critical environment.
You will bring: n
n
n
Robust experience in SQL Server administration, database support, and query development.
n
n
Experience troubleshooting database, application and system-related issues.
n
n
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, monitoring tools, and automation.
n
n
Exposure Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business or enterprise collaboration platforms.
n
n
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
n
Defence experience, ITIL certification, Linux or VMware knowledge will be highly regarded.
n
