Full-Time - Consultant Year 1-9: $424,525 - $539,140 per annum*

Sessional - Consultant Year 1-9: $****** - $1,****** per session*

*Above remuneration is inclusive of base rate as of 3 September ****, 12% superannuation and applicable allowances. Remuneration is subject to assessment of qualifications, clinical skills and years of practice.

About the Role
n
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in the continued development of mental health services across the Midwest, providing expert clinical care, leadership, mentorship and strategic input into service delivery.
n
This role will suit a senior Consultant Psychiatrist who is development-focused, and who is motivated by the opportunity to lead change, solve complex challenges, develop innovative approaches and create new opportunities for consumers, staff and future mental health professionals.

Key responsibilities:
n

Contribute to the establishment and ongoing development of a contemporary Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
n
Influence mental health care across inpatient and community settings.
n
Lead quality improvement, clinical governance and service innovation initiatives.
n
Supervise and mentor Registrars,



Resident Medical Officers and multidisciplinary team members.
n
Participate in research, service evaluation and workforce development initiatives.
n

Eligibility Requirements
n
To apply applicants must hold:
n
n
Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Psychiatry.
n
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or approved equivalent.
n
Experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in general mental health.
n
Clinical experience across community and/or inpatient mental health services.
n
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and mentoring capabilities.
n
A demonstrated commitment to service improvement, education, research and innovation.
n

A major transformation is underway at the Health Campus. Supported by a $***** million redevelopment, the campus is evolving into a centre of excellence for regional healthcare, with a new Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and purpose-built Mental Health Inpatient Unit expanding specialist services across the Midwest.
n
The recent Mental Health Inpatient Unit will comprise 15 beds, including 4 Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds, co-located with the Community Mental Health Clinic to support integrated and patient-centred care.
