The Role
Accounting Assistant Officer role to assist the Finance Department in achieving its objectives by recording and maintaining the accounting records of the agency in accordance with the Australian Accounting Standards and Finance procedures, the position requires adherence to strict reporting deadlines to the Chief Financial Officer.
The role will also involve providing finance administration support across coordination of maintenance, purchasing, contractor management, insurance claims and related agency requirements.
A few specifics:
Coordinate the maintenance of buildings and equipment across all Centrecare offices
, including associated purchasing activities and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Assist the Accounts Payable Officer with processing and payment of supplier invoices
, as well as raising purchase requisitions in accordance with agency finance and purchasing requirements.
Undertake payroll-related duties and provide support to the Finance Team
with additional tasks relevant to the operation of the Finance Section as required.
Reconcile credit card statements
and process the associated journal entries.
Minimum 1-2 years' experience working in an accounting, bookkeeping office setting.
Fast and accurate data entry and high attention to detail.




High level proficiency in all Microsoft Office suites.
Ability to schedule and prioritise workload.
Previous experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirable
Experience managing insurance claims.
National Police Certificate (within 12 months' validity).
Work rights for Australia.
WA Drivers Licence.
