The Role
Based at our Wollongong clinic, you will work with clients experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis and trauma-related presentations.
Community-based work is part of the role: you will see people in their homes, not just a treatment room and see the direct impact of your work in how they live day to day.
Whether you are current to mental health OT or bring years of experience, you will:
Assess clients' cognitive, emotional and physical needs to inform therapy goals
Design and deliver evidence-based intervention plans tailored to each client's mental health needs
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers, for coordinated care
Educate clients and families on therapeutic techniques and coping strategies
If you are newer to the field,



you will be supported to build these skills through a structured internship pathway, aligned to the OT Australia Mental Health Capability Framework, with intensive supervision along the way.
Beyond this core training, we support further training in your areas of interest.

$89,000–$120,000 base salary plus super, depending on experience, paid work phone, plus paid travel for work-related appointments
CPD funding up to $1,000 per year (pro rata) plus paid training leave of up to 5 days

About You
A qualification in Occupational Therapy (new graduates and experienced clinicians both welcome)
Current AHPRA registration
A collaborative, client-centred approach
Current Australian work rights at the time of application
A driver's licence, for community-based service delivery
Experience delivering therapy to adults and young people with mental health conditions and knowledge of the Mental Health Act, are highly regarded but not essential.
