We are seeking an experienced
Search Manager
to join our digital team to drive integrated end-to-end visibility across traditional search engines, retail media platforms, social channels, and next-generation AI platforms.




You will own the technical and strategic execution of On-Site, Off-Site, Retailer, and Social Search while serving as the primary lead for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).
Additionally, you will oversee search vendor relationships and identify high-growth new search initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Generative & Answer Engine strategy for strong visibility across AI-driven search environments, LLMs, and voice assistants (e.g., Google, ChatGPT, Claude)
Optimise brand & 3rd party content to ensure maximum citation and inclusion in generative AI responses and direct answer engines
Monitor changing AI search algorithms, tracking emerging metrics for brand presence in AI-generated answers
Test and scale new search channels, cross-functional integrations, and innovative optimisation tactics beyond traditional web search.
Lead paid and organic search strategy across retailer platforms with agency support (e.g., Woolworths, Coles, Amazon).
Own KPIs on SoV and drive conversion
Manage integrated SEM campaigns with agency support
Optimise and maintain on-site technical SEO
Execute content optimisation strategies for core product and landing pages to capture high-intent non-brand traffic
Partner with Brand teams to execute data-driven link acquisition and coverage into authoritative backlink opportunities
Social Search Optimisation
Build and execute search strategies for social discovery platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest)
Keyword-optimise social captions, titles, alt text, and video scripts to capture audience search intent directly within social algorithms
Track and report on cross-platform search trends to inform content creation
Manage agency relationships, deliverables, and performance metrics for external agencies, tools, and freelance contractors




Own and allocate the search budget efficiently across tools, link acquisition, retail optimisation assets, and external partners
KPIs
Share of Voice across Traditional Search, Social Search, Generative/AI
Retailer product listing rank of priority portfolios
ROI on search budget and vendor performance deliverables
Paid & organic revenue, conversion rates, and traffic growth
GEO: Visibility Score, Share of Visibility, Citation Share
High-authority backlink profile growth and referral traffic
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Search experience, with proven success leading cross-channel search strategies (on-Site, off-Site, social, retail)
AI Search Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of LLM data ingestion, entity-based search, and AEO/GEO tactics
Retail Media Knowledge: Hands-on experience optimizing listings within major retailer ecosystems and marketplace search algorithms
Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical SEM/SEO tools
Management & Financial Acumen: Experience managing external vendor deliverables and controlling annual marketing budgets
