The Role
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities and growing strong customer relationships.
You'll play an important role in achieving sales and gross profit targets while supporting the sales team to maximise performance and deliver excellent customer service.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced sales professional who understands the electrical wholesale industry, enjoys building customer relationships and has a strong commercial focus.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and achieve agreed revenue and gross profit targets.
Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Grow existing customer accounts and identify opportunities for further business.
Prepare,



manage and follow up customer quotes to maximise sales opportunities.
Monitor sales activity and identify opportunities for growth.
Promote Middy's products and services and provide customers with solutions suited to their needs.
Maintain strong industry, market and product knowledge.
Work closely with the Branch Manager and sales team to achieve business objectives.
Support customer events, promotions and other customer engagement activities.
Work collaboratively with sales and operations teams to support excellent customer service.
Contribute to meetings, business improvement initiatives and team activities.
Maintain high standards of compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in the electrical wholesale industry.
Proven experience in sales, business development or a similar customer-facing commercial role.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
A proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of margin and gross profit.




Experience using CRM systems to manage customer accounts and sales activity.
The ability to identify and convert current business opportunities.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
A valid driver's licence.
Qualifications & Licences
Year 12 or equivalent.
Certificate IV, Diploma or higher qualification in Business Development, Sales, Marketing or a related discipline is desirable.
Diploma of Business, specialising in sales and business development, is highly desirable.
Current forklift licence is desirable.
