Walgett District Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department team on a 14-week contract. Based in rural NSW, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in a community setting, supporting emergency care from triage through to patient discharge. The contract runs from 28 September 2026 to 3 January 2027, providing a defined period to contribute your expertise to a busy ED.

- Emergency Department experience in a rural healthcare setting
- 14-week contract with clear start and end dates, based in Walgett, NSW
- Opportunity to lead triage and in-charge responsibilities in a supportive team environment

Preferred Requirements

- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated emergency department experience,



including triage assessment and patient prioritisation
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification current and valid
- Experience working in an in-charge or leadership capacity within an ED
- Ability to work effectively in a rural healthcare environment with a cooperative approach to patient care

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated competency in Emergency Nursing
- Additional certifications in trauma or emergency care (e.g. TNCC) are advantageous
