Maintenance Fitter | Kilsyth, VIC | Up to $55/hr + Super

Immediate Start | Ongoing Contract Through December 2026 | Potential Permanent Opportunity

Manpower is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading global manufacturer based in Kilsyth, Victoria. Working as part of a supportive maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of plant, equipment, and production machinery within a busy manufacturing workplace.

- Day shift: 6:30am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Minimum engagement through to 23rd December 2026

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment
- Perform breakdown maintenance and respond to equipment failures to minimise downtime
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on production machinery and facility equipment
- Complete installations, equipment upgrades, and general facility maintenance works
- Undertake fabrication and modification work as required
- Prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Work Method Statements (SWMS/WMS)
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using computer-based maintenance systems
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors on site




- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and operational performance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade preferred) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Demonstrated experience as a Maintenance Fitter within manufacturing, processing, industrial, or production environments
- Strong preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and fault-finding experience
- Ability to work independently and prioritise maintenance tasks effectively
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- Experience using maintenance management systems and reporting tools
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Exposure to PLC-controlled or automated equipment
- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Space certification
- Forklift Licence
- EWP Licence
- White Card
- Experience supervising contractors

About the Role

This position is primarily focused on routine preventative and breakdown maintenance activities. While complex engineering issues are escalated to senior maintenance personnel and engineers, you will be expected to work autonomously on day-to-day maintenance tasks and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
