About the Opportunity
Our client is a large and complex Queensland Government agency within the Health sector, undertaking significant digital and enterprise technology initiatives across a critical corporate application landscape.
The Corporate Enterprise Solutions Business Unit is responsible for delivering solutions and services that support the organisation’s enterprise corporate applications and critical payroll transactional processes.
The team is responsible for the ongoing delivery, enhancement and support of key enterprise platforms across: Workforce Management and Rostering, Payroll, Finance, Business and Logistics and SAP SuccessFactors.
This is an opportunity to play a key architectural role across a highly complex enterprise setting, supporting the reliability, integration and ongoing transformation of critical business platforms.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the development, design, scoping and implementation of Enterprise Architecture across Corporate Enterprise Solutions.
The role will provide strategic and technical architectural leadership to support digitally enabled business change, ICT planning and investment decisions. You will work across enterprise, domain and solution architecture, providing direction on complex systems, integrations, technology platforms and transformation initiatives.
A key focus of the role will be providing architecture leadership and assurance for the SAP S/4HANA Finance upgrade, including architecture governance, solution design, integration, customisation, security, testing and transition activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of the Integration Architecture Framework, Target State Enterprise Architecture, Domain Enterprise Architecture and associated policies, processes and governance.
- Develop target-state architectures and architecture plans for multiple complex systems and interfaces managed by Corporate Enterprise Solutions.
- Manage architectural governance, assurance and approval pathways on behalf of customers and projects.
- Develop domain strategies and roadmaps aligned with business services, while identifying technology risks and defining the ICT program of work.
- Provide technical, transition and implementation advice to support ICT-enabled organisational change and investment decisions.
- Guide and direct technical specialists in developing end-to-end solution architectures across relevant architecture domains,



aligned with Enterprise and Solution Architecture frameworks.
- Provide architectural input to business cases, invitations to offer, implementation activities and production support.
- Prepare high-quality strategy responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, reports and information papers to support architecture, ICT planning and investment decisions.
- Lead the development, assurance and approval of Solution Architecture Documents (SADs) and supporting design artefacts for the S/4HANA Finance upgrade, ensuring design decisions are documented, traceable and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide architectural direction and design assurance across upgrade and build activities, including SAP standard functionality, custom applications and code, security roles and authorisations, interfaces and integrations.
- Provide architecture support and assurance across SIT, regression, end-to-end, performance and security testing, including resolution of design-related defects and validation of non-functional requirements.

Key Requirements

- Certification in a recognised enterprise architecture framework or modelling discipline, such as TOGAF, ArchiMate or an equivalent framework, would be highly regarded.
- Relevant SAP, cloud architecture, information management, cybersecurity, service management or architecture assurance certifications would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
- Knowledge of Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture, information security, privacy, information management, procurement and ICT assurance requirements would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise architecture activities across large and complex ICT transformation initiatives, including current-state assessment, future-state architecture, transition states, roadmaps and implementation recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop coherent end-to-end architectural views across business capabilities, operating models, information and data, applications, integrations, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity and service management.
- Demonstrated experience providing solution and enterprise architecture leadership across SAP S/4HANA environments, including SAP S/4HANA Finance and RISE with SAP / Private Cloud Edition (PCE)

- Demonstrated experience delivering major SAP version upgrades or platform migrations, including impact assessment, custom code and integration remediation, and architecture assurance across build, testing and cutover.
- Demonstrated experience providing architectural leadership and assurance for complex enterprise platforms. Experience across SAP enterprise environments, including SAP HR/Payroll, SAP S/4HANA Finance, data archiving, information lifecycle management, environment rationalisation or SAP Solution Manager transition, would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of enterprise architecture governance, standards and assurance practices, including the ability to produce high-quality architecture artefacts, facilitate architecture decisions and guide solution and integration architects through review and approval processes.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess current-state evidence, identify capability and architecture gaps, evaluate options, define non-functional requirements and assess dependencies, risks, supportability, transition impacts and whole-of-life implications.
