Longreach Hospital in Queensland is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant specialising in Child and Youth Mental Health to join their team on a five-week contract. This is a fixed-term opportunity running from 19 October to 23 November 2026, offering the chance to make a real difference in a specialist mental health setting serving young people in regional Queensland.

- Specialist child and youth mental health nursing in a regional hospital setting
- Five-week contract role with defined dates and clear scope
- Opportunity to contribute clinical expertise and mentorship to a dedicated mental health team

Preferred Requirements

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and demonstrated experience in child and youth mental health
- Solid clinical assessment and intervention skills in mental health nursing




- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a regional healthcare environment
- Sound communication skills and capacity to support both young people and their families
- Flexibility and adaptability in a contract role with a defined timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Post-graduate qualification or specialist training in mental health or child and youth mental health nursing
- Experience working in a hospital or acute mental health setting, particularly with young people
