About the role

We are inviting expressions of interest for a permanent, full-time Maintenance Worker to join our Cambridge Roads team.

In this role, you will help keep Tasmania’s road network safe and well maintained. Drawing on your practical skills and technical experience, you will undertake a range of road maintenance activities, including:

· Environmental maintenance

· Road maintenance

· Installation and maintenance of road safety equipment, including dividers, guide rails and wire-rope safety barriers

· Road signage installation

· Traffic control

· Road patrols

· Shadow vehicle operations

· Mowing and vegetation management

· General labouring and other duties as required

About you

Civil maintenance, or related experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential. What matters most is that you bring a positive, can-do attitude, a strong commitment to safety, a willingness to learn and a genuine preference for working outdoors. You work well with others, contribute to shared goals and take pride in delivering quality results.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following mandatory criteria. Candidates who also meet the desirable criteria will be highly regarded.

· General Construction Induction (White Card)

· Confidence and competence in using mobile devices and digital platforms

· Strong attention to detail, with effective organisational and time management skills

· A sound understanding of civil construction and safety principles and practices

· Proven ability to manage competing tasks and priorities accurately and on time





· Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

· Sound written and verbal communication skills

· A current Australian C Class Driver Licence (MR Preferred)

· Australian residency or a valid Australian visa with working rights

Desirable criteria include:

· A current Traffic Management or Traffic Control ticket that meets Austroads standards

· A current First Aid and/or CPR certificate

· Arborist qualification

· Elevating Work Platform (EWP) qualification

· Previous experience in civil asset construction and/or maintenance

· Additional relevant tickets, such as chainsaw or pole saw certification

· Experience operating machinery such as skid-steer loaders, excavators and rollers

· Experience operating a ride-on mower

· Experience repairing sealed and unsealed pavements

· A current Australian Medium Rigid (MR) Licence

· A Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) Licence
