About the role

The primary role of the Customer Service Representative is to maximise the productivity, utilisation, and profitability of the forklift fleet across the three BlueScope QLD sites, while supporting Short-Term Rental growth and effective fleet management across Brisbane. This role requires a proactive and commercially focused approach to customer management, with a strong emphasis on timely inspections, accurate assessment, and prompt recovery of repair costs.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure all Long-Term Rental de-hires are inspected promptly, with any customer damage identified, documented and quoted within 24 hours of the asset being returned

- Ensure all Short-Term Rental returns are inspected upon return, with any customer damage assessed and quotations issued within 48 hours

- Maintain clear and accurate records of identified damage, supporting photographs, repair requirements and customer quotations

- Proactively follow up outstanding damage quotations and approvals to minimise asset downtime and ensure repair costs are recovered in a timely manner

- Assist the Operations Manager with the day-to-day management and service support of the three major BlueScope sites, ensuring service requirements, maintenance activities and customer expectations are proactively managed

- Coordinate with the Service Coordinators to ensure BlueScope preventative maintenance and repair work is appropriately scheduled, prioritised and completed within required timeframes

- Drive Short-Term Rental utilisation and revenue with a minimum target of 15 x STR rentals per month from the Brisbane fleet





- Actively monitor available Short-Term Rental equipment and coordinate the movement of assets between Brisbane and other locations to ensure equipment is positioned where it can generate the greatest utilisation and revenue

- Conduct regular site visits across the three BlueScope sites to maintain strong customer relationships, understand operational requirements and proactively identify any service or fleet issues

- Work closely with all Branch departments to promote a professional, responsive and efficient approach to customer service, fleet management and operational activities

About you

- Sound computer skills in software, especially in spreadsheets

- Experience in Pronto software is highly regarded

- Apply sound judgment and common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram formats

- Effectively address problems or concerns involving multiple variables

- Demonstrate the ability to work under strict deadlines and meet budget requirements

- Demonstrates strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and persuade customers, colleagues, and subordinates effectively

- Communicates confidently and clearly at all levels, fostering a customer-focused approach

- Self-motivated with a strong drive to exceed expectations
