WANTED: One warm, lively person who actually likes people — and who will pick up the phone to apply.
Sales Associate – Opal Jewellery & Museum, Windsor (Brisbane)
$36 per hour + commission · 4 days a week, including most Saturdays
We're Majulix Jewellers and the Brisbane Opal Museum, a privately owned shop & museum in Windsor, about 15 minutes north of the city. We sell 100% natural Australian opal jewellery, and we run a museum that exists to make people light up when they see Australia's national gemstone, which makes selling a lot easier. Customers don't come here for a transaction. They come for a story, a piece they can wear, and a person who is glad they walked in.
Have a look at us before you call: AustralianOpalJewellery.com.au or BrisbaneOpalMuseum.com.au
We need one sales associate who can make a stranger feel welcome in a heartbeat.
What you'll actually do
- Switch on warm, genuine energy the second a customer walks in. Not fake. Not "retail voice." On.
- Talk to people. Listen. Ask questions.
Guide custom jewellery orders without making them complicated (we will train you for this).
- Answer the phone, emails and texts like a human who wants the sale and the relationship.
- Handle the unglamorous bits: postage, data entry, admin. The shop only works if those get done.
Who this is for
- You're naturally friendly. People say so without you asking.
- You remember what a customer told you last time, and you bring it up.
- You stay organised when the shop is busy.
- You can work 4 days a week, including most Saturdays.
You don't need to know opal. We'll teach you. You need to love talking to people.
How to apply (this is the test)
Call 0429 262 *** and leave a message
Tell us who you are, why this shop, and when you can start. If we miss you, leave your name and number, and we'll call you back.
