About the Role

The Navy’s Anchorage is looking for an experienced Senior Venue Manager to lead and support our hospitality operations across multiple sites in Adelaide.

This is a hands-on senior leadership role for someone who knows how to run strong hospitality operations, build capable teams and create consistently great customer experiences.

You’ll have oversight across a portfolio of venues, working closely with Venue Managers and operational teams to ensure our sites are well-led, commercially focused, compliant and operating to a consistently high standard.

While you'll have responsibility for the bigger operational picture, this isn't a role that's managed from behind a desk. We're looking for someone who enjoys being present in venues, understands what's happening on the floor and can step in, coach and problem-solve when needed.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple Adelaide hospitality venues.

- Coach, mentor and support Venue Managers and their teams to perform at their best.

- Maintain a strong presence across sites and build trusted relationships with employees, customers and key stakeholders.

- Drive high standards across customer experience, food and beverage service, presentation and operational delivery.

- Monitor venue performance, labour, costs, stock, wastage and other key operational measures.

- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery and commercial performance.

- Support workforce planning, rostering and resourcing across venues.

- Work collaboratively with People & Culture on recruitment, onboarding,



performance management and employee matters.

- Build a positive, accountable and respectful workplace culture.

- Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS, responsible service requirements and company policies.

- Support Venue Managers to resolve operational challenges and address performance issues early.

- Coordinate effectively across venues to ensure appropriate coverage, communication and consistency.

- Lead operational change and support the implementation of new systems, processes and initiatives.

- Respond to significant operational issues and provide leadership when things don't go to plan.

About You

You'll be an experienced hospitality leader who is equally comfortable setting expectations with managers and jumping onto the floor to understand what's really happening.

You'll ideally bring:

- Significant hospitality management experience, preferably across multiple venues or complex operations.

- Demonstrated experience leading and developing Venue Managers or other operational leaders.

- Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, including rostering, labour management, stock control and service delivery.

- Commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, costs and operational performance.

- Robust people leadership skills with the ability to coach, challenge and support teams.





- Experience managing performance and navigating difficult workplace conversations.

- Excellent organisation and communication skills.

- A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational problems.

- Strong understanding of WHS, food safety and hospitality compliance requirements.

- The ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and employees at all levels.

- Availability to work flexibly where operational requirements require senior management support.

The Environment

This is a primarily site-based position working across The Navy’s Anchorage operations throughout Adelaide.

Regular travel between our Adelaide venues is an inherent part of the role, including operations at Sea Breeze, Sailors Depot, Osborne Café, ANZAC Mess, Shipyard, Wharfside, Encounter and the RAZ Van.

Some flexibility outside standard business hours may occasionally be required to support significant operational matters.
