St Martin's Residential Aged Care, Taigum is seeking to join our team on a casual basis. This role is an important part of supporting our kitchen and dining services, helping ensure residents receive nutritious meals and a positive dining experience.

The position would suit someone who is reliable, team-oriented and enjoys working in a rapid-paced kitchen environment, with a genuine interest in supporting older people.

About the role:

As a Support Services Worker (Kitchen) Working alongside the Cook/Chef and wider team, you will assist with the preparation and serving of meals while maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Casual pay rates range from $35.65 to $38.38 per hour, depending on the applicable classification and experience.

Key responsibilities :

- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and mid-meals for residents.
- Clean and maintain food preparation, kitchen and dining areas to required standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and infection control principles at all times.
- Maintain appropriate food storage practices and ensure food products are handled safely.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with instructions, procedures and training.
- Advise the Cook/Chef of any issues relating to food preparation, storage or meal service.
- Provide professional, respectful and responsive service to residents, families/carers and team members, supporting dignity and individual needs.
- Complete required documentation accurately and within expected timeframes, including reporting hazards, incidents or concerns.
- Follow Workplace Health & Safety requirements, including correct use of PPE, chemicals and equipment, and promptly report hazards, accidents and near misses.
- Participate in training,



competency assessments and performance development to maintain the knowledge and skills required for the role.

Qualifications and Requirements

- A current National Police Check
- Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or relevant
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including working on weekends and public holidays as required.
