With multiple service portfolios, complex funding arrangements and a significant operational footprint, this is an interesting finance environment where the numbers genuinely matter.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join their finance team and take ownership of a diverse portfolio.

This is more than a traditional accounting role. Alongside month-end and financial reporting, you'll work closely with operational stakeholders to understand performance, investigate variances, provide meaningful insights and help build financial capability across the business.

The Opportunity Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll support the financial performance of your portfolio across reporting, budgeting, forecasting, funding and analysis.

You'll get close to the business, developing an understanding of the operational and financial drivers behind service delivery and helping stakeholders understand what the numbers mean and what they need to do with them.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering month-end activities, reconciliations and accurate financial reporting.
- Preparing performance reporting, variance analysis, KPIs and trend analysis.
- Supporting annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial modelling.
- Assisting with scenario modelling, cost-benefit analysis and financial insights to support business decisions.
- Analysing workforce costs, financial performance and emerging trends.




- Supporting revenue recognition, funding claims, reconciliations and utilisation.
- Ensuring accurate coding across income, expenditure, grants, client funding and service lines.
- Identifying billing exceptions, unclaimed revenue and data integrity issues.
- Partnering with stakeholders to improve financial understanding and support better decision making.
- Contributing to process improvements, system enhancements and stronger financial reporting.

About You You're an experienced Accountant who is technically strong but also enjoys getting out from behind the numbers and working with the business.
You're curious, analytical and comfortable asking questions to understand what's driving financial performance. Importantly, you can communicate financial information in a way that makes sense to people who don't work in finance.

You'll bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in financial or management accounting, including month-end and reconciliations.
- Strong capability across financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
- The ability to analyse variances and translate financial information into meaningful insights.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-financial stakeholders.




- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and reporting platforms such as TechnologyOne, Power BI or similar.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple portfolios with different funding and operational models.

Progress towards CA or CPA will be highly regarded, as will experience within government-funded, healthcare, aged care, community services or other complex service environments.

The successful applicant will be required to satisfy relevant probity, vaccination and organisational compliance requirements.
